My love is much like
The tides of the sea
Coming and going
Unpredictably flowing
Never at ease
But somehow at peace

Commiseration
Pity is a poison
Pity holds me just like pain
Therefore I will show no pity
When pity tries to walk my way
Plot Twist
I could read him like a book
And let me tell you
Before you pull him off the shelf
The narrative wasn't anything new
Puzzle
You broke me into pieces
And for whatever reason
I picked up all of those pieces
And brought them back to you
Thinking that, if you were the one to break me
You would know how to put me back together
Dripping
You could curse my name
But if done
At the blade of your tongue
I would bleed
Just to hear the smile behind it
Think
Some of the most
Intelligent people I know
Are the ones who really
Believe that they aren’t
Capable of being loved
This just goes to show
That sometimes logic
Isn’t really logical at all
Habitual
I had to learn
To leave my
Bad habits behind
And darling
You were
The worst habit
Of them all
I Love You
You didn’t
Fill the voids
You took my hand
And showed me
How to fill them
And let me continue
This journey
On my own time
With my own decisions
And that is why
I love you
Decisions
It’s easier
To come and go
Than it will ever be
To stay
That is at least
What he has shown
I have known
No other way
Note to Self
A deliberately cruel moment it is
To realize you are tasked with
Using a quick tongue
Often left unheard in the moments
You wish to be the loudest
That voice stuck inside you
Trapped by your own doing
Yet written for the world to read
You will find the lessons and words
You give to those around you
Are not meant for
The stranger on a screen
But the stranger in your reflection
These moments are yours
