I once was an open sky
But you complained of no domain
So I then became a storm
To which you scorned my heavy rains
I fell down into a pond
For you to find all but arcane
So I grew into a river
Hoping to flow into your veins
My current brought me far
But see by then it was too late
You seem to love the clouds
I guess my sky wasn’t that great
He held me like a chalice of gold
With two hands around me
I reminded him that, like the Fountain Of Youth
Many men fall weak in their search
For the eternal swim within my body of water
He smiled and tipped his head back slowly
With his lips pressed against me softly
He reminded me that his search was over
Therefore no one will ever again
Taste how sweet my river can flow
I was always told to fight
fire with fire.
That was until I met water.
I, a raging flame,
smothered by a liquid.
Yet I continue to burn in embers,
and water continues to
drown my colors of red.
