Inflated
You only keep those
Who boost your ego
A lack of criticism my dear
Will never help you grow
Falling
We have spent years
Digging this hole together
And for whatever reason
Every time I begin to give up
I find myself fallingÂ
Over and over again
Into the same trap
Resentment
I left my sadness in darker days
And began to feel enraged
Anger engulfed me as I stared
At blank painted walls
Wishing to curve these emotions
Into something greater
Glass Heart
My heart is made of glass
But has been stained
With all the colors of my love
I am fragile but hopefulÂ
That one day someone will understand
The depth of this work of art
Thief
I came across him in the dark
And like a moth to a flame
He pointed out the parts of me
That were bright and full of life
And just as I stepped close
He stole that spark he claimed to love
And used it to light the path he left on
Never Good Enough
I once was an open sky
But you complained of no domain
So I then became a storm
To which you scorned my heavy rains
I fell down into a pond
For you to find all but arcane
So I grew into a river
Hoping to flow into your veins
My current brought me far
But see by then it was too lateÂ
You seem to love the clouds
I guess my sky wasn’t that great
